Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has expressed his desire for Mohamed Salah to remain with the English club and continue his legendary career at Anfield.
Salah, now 32, is in the final season of his current contract with Liverpool, and uncertainty lingers over whether he will extend his stay. The Egyptian forward played under Klopp from his arrival in the summer of 2017 until the German coach departed at the end of last season.
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Klopp said:
“I hope Mohamed Salah stays at Liverpool. He is the best forward in the club’s modern history.”
The former Liverpool boss also praised Salah’s qualities both on and off the pitch:
“Salah is an incredible athlete and a fantastic person. He is also the best ambassador for Egypt.”
On Omar Marmoush’s Potential Move to Manchester City
Klopp also briefly commented on the rumored transfer of Omar Marmoush, the Eintracht Frankfurt star, to Manchester City:
“I don’t know. He’s a great player, and City is a great team.”
Klopp’s Current Role
After leaving Liverpool, Klopp now serves as the Head of Football Operations for the Red Bull Group, which oversees several clubs, including RB Leipzig in Germany and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
